Biogas is produced by decomposition of organic matter. Biogas is mainly composed of methane. It burns with negligible smoke and leaves no residue. It can be used as kitchen fuel.The Biogas has some of the constituents which reduce its calorific value. Carbon dioxide is a recalcitrant gas that decreases the calorific value and density of the biogas, but it is not toxic and corrosive like H2S.

This experimental is prepared specifically for the users of “Insight Solar PV training and Research kit”. This covers the fundamentals of solar PV system as well as basic research on PV system and related electronics which would be helpful to the engineering students of both undergraduate and postgraduate level. This kit will also be useful for research students. Part I focuses on the characteristics of PV module at different conditions. Part II focuses on the characteristics of PV system and power flow analysis. Part III focuses on the working of electronics of system with user defined controls. All the experiments can be done with the help of digital display meters but some of these can also be performed with logger/plotter unit which comes along with this kit.

GASIFIER

CYCLONE SEPARTATOR

Specifications:

Cyclone Separator is a vertical cylinder with the inlet stream introduced tangentially near the top, giving the suspension a spinning rotation in the cylinder. The centrifugal force acting on the particles tends to throw them radically to the sides of the cylinder as they spiral downward to a conical bottom where they are removed. A collector is fitted at the bottom & the induced draft blower is used to create the air stream. The classified air leaves the cyclone through a pipe extended down into the cyclone & passes through blower delivery side fitted with fine screen cloth bag to avoid dust expansion in the laboratory. The setup consists of i.d. Blower connected to discharge side of cyclone separator. A flow meter with manometer is provided to measure the flow rate of air. Pressure drop in the cyclone is measured by water manometer. Solids are collected in the collector fixed at the bottom. The set-up is complete with flow control & by-pass valve
