The unit consists of a centrifugal pump provided with variable speed motor. The pump is provided with a vacuum gauge at suction and a pressure gauge on discharge pipe. The pump is provided with a variable speed drive  gate valve at discharge which facilitates estimation of pump performance at various speeds  discharge heads.
