The V-Notch Weir is a precision flow measurement device used to determine the discharge of open
channel flow in laboratory experiments and irrigation channels. It consists of a triangular notch in a
vertical thin plate installed across the channel. As water flows over the notch, the flow rate is
calculated based on the height of the water above the weir crest using standard hydraulic equations.
