This equipment is designed to determine the thermal conductivity of insulating powders.

The equipment consists of two thin walled concentric copper spheres. Inner sphere houses nichrome heating coil. Insulating powder is filled between the spheres. Heat flows radially outwards. Surface temperatures of spheres and heat input are measured by panellised instrument.
